ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Being a voice for the people of Kenner:
- Assisted Flavors Snoballs to expand their footprint and to remain in Kenner
- Supported the expansion of Kenner Recreational Sports and Programs
- Advocated for Kenner Discovery Health Science Academy partnerships with the City of Kenner
- Partnered with District 4 councilman to move Church of the King to the City of Kenner
- Assisted community organizations, including Kiwanis and Kenner Rotary, to advertise their events in the City of Kenner
- Responded to 70-plus requests for trash collection complaints, including no trash pickup and new trash can inquiries (both Ramelli and IV Waste)
- Worked with District 5 councilman to answer neighborhood complaints about large trucks on No Truck Route
- Partnered with District 4 councilman to fund street panel repairs, curbside replacement project, and special needs playground surfacing
- Partnered with Council-At-Large Division B to perform streetlight surveying in November and December 2021 and to report outages
- Assisted with after-hours emergency sewer problems, and followed up with the sewerage department and residents until complete
- Partnered with District 5 councilman to fund Christmas Village lights
- Proposed and passed budget amendment to provide pay increases to unclassified city employees, and Police and Fire Department employees
- Provided financial legislative oversight on contracts before the Council
Supporting the residents of Kenner during and after Hurricane Ida:
- Contacted the Administration officials on the status of streets, emergency needs, electricity return, water main breaks, and city’s response in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida
- Helped residents after Hurricane Ida with emergency needs, including passing out tarps, food, water, and ice, at distribution sites with the city and religious entities
- Provided residents with information regarding oxygen tank refills, blue tarps, food, water, and ice distribution pickups over phone calls, texts, and social media in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida
- Visited elderly residents to assess their needs and connect them with community outreach organizations for assistance after Hurricane Ida
- Reported Kenner residents’ issues to the city departments for resolution after talking to them about their concerns in the aftermath of the hurricane
- Assisted with residents’ reports regarding debris pickup and trees in roadways after Hurricane Ida
- Relayed residents’ issues to Entergy, AT&T, and Cox after Hurricane Ida
